- starting to combine finances
- got in just under the line for updating work benefits (whew)
- all thank you notes have been written and mailed
- marriage license has yet to arrive from Cook County...odd
So far so good. On the finance side, we are still operating about of 3 accounts and are doing the gradual combine so I anticipate things rapidly becoming much more, uh, passionate. This weekend we are completing our (aka my) must haves from the registry. In a perfect world, we would use the cash to finish our china and crystal, but until we 1. have at minimum a kitchen table, and 2. storage, it doesn't make much sense to buy more than we currently have been gifted. Tear.
My random observation of the day is that people in Chicago are much louder than they are in Dallas. At least the accountants are. Not sure what the deal is here. I just sat with a prospect and the audit manager talked so loud I felt a little bit like we were being yelled at. Ears ringing. Echos. People in tax are just as bad - you can hear conversations half way across the department even with the white noise playing. What's the deal? Are they hard of hearing? Does the frigid north deaden the ear drum? It is odd. And annoying. No wonder Europeans don't like Americans.
Peace.
